NESA

Emergency ServicesThis message is being sent as a reminder to all eligible members. Online applications are now being accepted for the 2008 National Emergency Services Academy (NESA) at: https://ntc.cap.af.mil/ops/nesa/. Slots will be filled on a first come first served basis through the 18th of May 2008 or until slots are filled, whichever comes first. Members are encouraged to apply soon to get into the course or courses they desire. Some courses fill up faster than others and registration fees go up on the 1st of January. The cost to participate depends on when you apply. Members completing their registration prior to the 1st of January pay the early discounted rate of only $160; 1 January and beyond registration costs $175 per course.

Held at Wing Headquarters, Fort Indaintown Gap, Starting at
900hrs....Breakfast on your own, Light Lunch served at Noon..
**** THERE WILL BE NO BARRACKS AVAILABLE FOR FRI EVENING!!!!!
Uniform of the day...BLUES...Make sure you do all required
paperwork for all schools and sent a hard copy to wing HQ.
by Jan 7..all National paperwork is due no later that Jan 15
on line.........should have it in before due date..National
will not accept anything after that date......

Aerospace Education Event

EVENT: 5th Tuesday AEROSPACE EDUCATION EVENT
WHAT: Lehigh Medivac Helicopter Demonstration
EVENT DATE: Tuesday January 29th
EVENT START TIME: 1900 HRS
WHERE: SQDN 904 Hangar, UKT Quakertown Airport
UOD: BDU'S (Dress warmly, some outdoor activity)
WHO: All CAP units and interested parties.

ADDITIONAL INFO: This is the first of the 2008, 5th Tuesday Aerospace Education events. It is also a community outreach event. All interested Search and rescue teams, fire departments, police departments, government agencies, pilot clubs, first responders, teachers , students, families and guests etc...are invited and encouraged to attend. Classroom discussion will cover the history of helicopters in Medivac use, landing zone procedures and triage. Weather permitting, the Medivac helicopter will land and be available for demonstration and tours.

Group 2 SAREX

Dates of Training
Training will be conducted at York Composite Squadron 301 at the York Airport beginning at 0900 on Saturday, 26 January 2008. Alternate date will be 8 March 2008.

Participation
All persons attending must have on their person a current CAP ID card, current 101 card and/or a SQTR worksheet properly endorsed by their commander. All travel to and from the area will be in a proper CAP uniform.

How to Participate
Email or call Major Brandon Parks at 717-654-0052 or parks@brandonparks.com with your name grade and what specialty you would like to do at the SAREX. ex. MP, GTM3 As a reminder all personnel participating in air operations must have proper credentials that will include current ID card, valid 101 card and or an approved SQTR worksheet in their specialty. All cards will be checked upon arriving and with the official database, (MIMS).

Pennsylvania Safety Down Day

  1. As many of you know, National has mandated that each unit with in the Civil Air Patrol hold a "Safety Down Day" in December. As we head into the Winter period, our operations, both ground and air, can become even more hazardous. Please take time to read the National Commander's memo. Mini Encampment

Cadet ProgramsI want to thank everyone for helping with Mini Encampment.
The activity was a great success.


We had over 45 Officers and Cadets attend the activity.
We had 36 o-rides, 18 front and 18 back seat rides.
The 18 Cadets that went flying were all 1st time o-flights.


Cadet Dreer was the outstanding cadet.
PA060 Capital City Composite Squa dron had the most members attend the activity (11 members total).
PA335 Bedford had half of their cadets attend, (5 Cadets total).


I want to thank the Cadet Commander C/Capt Emily Rentschler for doing such a great job along with the rest of her staff.
I also want to thank all of the Officers (Senior Members) for all of their hard work.
They made my job a lot easier.

December 2007 Wing CAC Meeting

We will be conducting a Wing CAC meeting at Wing HQ. on Sat. Dec 15
starting at 1000hrs.....(No uniform required)

We will be discussing plans for Cadet programs for 2008...
CLS, Encampment, Hawk, Power Flight, Glider School, and
New for 2008 Wing CADET CONFERENCE; Dates and
location to be discussed at Dec 15th CAC meeting....

*****DON'T FORGET INTERVIEWS FOR ALL NATIONAL ACTIVITIES and
Encampment Staff and Power Flight students and Glider students,
will be held at Wing HQ. On Sat. Jan 19, 2008 starting at app.
930hrs.Uniform for Jan Interviews will be 'BLUES'...

####Barracks may be available Fri. Jan 18, after 1900hrs for those
traveling in Fri evening...However I must have names of Senior
who will be responsible for Barracks during the Evening and also
all who use the barracks will also be responsible to clean up
before turning back into Gap.
