Battle of the Buldge 2008



Civil Air Patrol Sq. 307 from Lebanon, Pa. assisted the WW11 Federation for the annual Battle of the Bulge reenactment from 22 Jan. to 26 Jan. at Fort Indiantown Gap. The cadets were assigned to duties. Among the duties were registration of reenactors, security and helping to set up the flea markets containing WW11 memorabilia, manning the radios to keep in contact with everyone, assisting the veterans and parking cars for the public battles on Sat. 26 Jan.

Participants in the Battle of the Bulge came from all over the US and several foreign countries. CAP Sq. 307 set up headquarters in Bldg.12-08.

SARX Update

Emergency ServicesChange of time....

Execution: Staff members and key personnel will sign in NLT 0700! All other personnel will sign into the mission base NLT 0745 hours and will receive safety and mission briefings before tasks are performed. Personnel must formally sign out in order to leave the exercise before the published termination times. Cadets attending this exercise will not be able to sign out without the consent of a senior member from their squadron. This phase will entail ground and air crews starting their “round robin” mission scenarios. Once a scenario is completed, the personnel will be debriefed and will be tasked with another mission. When not engaged in a mission, personnel are expected to rest and/or conduct hip pocket training.

Dates of Training
Training will be conducted at York Composite Squadron 301 at the York Airport beginning on Saturday, 26 January 2008. Alternate date will be 8 March 2008.
Participation
All persons attending must have on their person a current CAP ID card, current 101 card and/or a SQTR worksheet properly endorsed by their commander. All travel to and from the area will be in a proper CAP uniform.
How to Participate
Call or E-mail Major Brandon Parks at 717-654-0052 or parks@brandonparks.com with your name grade and what specialty you would like to do at the SARX. ex. MP, GTM3
23 January 2008 will be the cut off date for sign up for the training.

There will be no cost for the activity.
All members will need to provide their own food.
Capt Bollinger has approved for members may stay overnight Friday if needed at the York Squadron building.

As a reminder all personnel participating in air operations must have proper credentials that will include current ID card, valid 101 card and or an approved SQTR worksheet in their specialty. All cards will be checked upon arriving and with the official database, (MIMS).

AND ENCOURAGING ALL INTERESTED CADETS TO APPLY

We would like to advise all interested cadets that cadet staff interviews for Encampment will be held January 19, 2008, PAWG HQ FTIG starting 0900 for highly motivated and qualified cadet applicants. Uniform of the Day is Service Dress Uniform (short or long-sleeved blues combination is acceptable if a service coat is not owned). NO BDU's! You may apply for more than one position and rank them in order of preference.

Requirements to submit an application are:
1. Current minimum rank of C/SSgt.
2. Prior satisfactory completion of ENC
3. Prior satisfactory completion of CLS
4. Positive recommendation from Squadron Commander
5. Ability to attend Staff Training Weekends.

If you meet the above qualifications. please complete all items on the attached Word Document and return the attachment in an e-mail to:
Captain Brian J. Cuce, Commandant of Cadets, bcuce@pawgcls.org.

You will receive an e-mail confirmation noting receipt of the application document. (If you do not receive this confirmation, your e-mail was not received.)

NO interview will be given unless your name was submitted for consideration. If your circumstances change and you wish to change or withdraw your application, have the courtesy to notify the Commandant by e-mail prior to the above deadline.

Mission Scanner Class

Training Information
Training will be conducted at Lancaster Composite Squadron 304 at the Lancaster Airport (LNS).
The training will be on Saturday, 19 January 2008 from 0800 to 1630.
Sign up will start at 7:45.

The class is to cover 24 Mission Scanner task and will be quick moving.
Class will cover the GX-55.
This will not be all inclusive so it is required that students study the GX-55 prior to the class and use the simulator for the GX-55.

Upon completion of the online training you will be presented with a Non-Disclosure Agreement. Your response to this agreement will be recorded in the National database and will determine your access to sensitive information and your ability to participate in sensitive missions.

2. Classroom Presentation
As defined in the "New OPSEC Training Requirements", units may now conduct OPSEC training in a classroom environment. The OPSEC Training Package, see link below, contains the OPSEC training material in both PowerPoint and PDF formats along with the necessary NDA reporting form and a copy of the New OPSEC Training Requirements letter signed by the National Commander. An optional video on Operations Security may be viewed or downloaded.
